Welcome To The Third
Edition
of Praxatelligence...

In the last edition of Praxatelligence, I made reference to this Year of the Rat, which would be marked by speculation and fluctuations in commodity prices and the stock market. However the world economy in general would boom and business would be on the upswing.

Having said this we are witnessing a time when many companies want to take advantage of new IT technologies to move ahead. However in doing so, many are realising that there are issues with their existing legacy or IT infrastructure which is inhibiting the ease of evolvement/extension and is creating cost hurdles.

So while many companies are establishing quick wins with new dashboards and analytics with products like Xcelsius (find out what's new in Xcelsius below), it is also a time for some strategic planning, a time to take stock, re-design and alter the IT blueprint for the enterprise.

Please contact us if you have any questions in regards to our events, case study, product update and solutions below.

Kind Regards

EVENT & CASE STUDY ...

CALMING THE INFORMATION STORM

  • Are you inundated by the storm of data coming in and out of your system?
  • How do you capture consistent data with the most up-to-date information?
  • Are you able to access information and make strategic decisions?
  • How do you automate and streamline this time and labour intensive process?

If you are constantly battling with your organisation’s information ‘storm’ and are faced with these dark clouds, it is time to calm and armed yourself with a strategy that would optimise your investments and convert your data into a tactical asset and not a wet blanket.

Praxa and solutions partner Business Objects are holding a 3 city tour in May 2008 to uncover how you can best optimise your company data with industry experts presenting real-world scenarios and showcasing the best practices and real customer case study so you can learn to avoid the storm.

MAJOR SYDNEY HEALTH SERVICE USES BI TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE

How does a key western Sydney health service, covering nine local government areas, provide better patient care? This is the challenge the Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS) faces as it tries to make sense, and act upon the masses of data generated from the millions of patient admissions and administration records where quick, accurate and timely information access and assessment could mean life or death. SWAHS uses business intelligence tools to improve its operation and provide critical patient care by bringing together disparate health care information across its vast constituency.

Tips & Tricks...

Flynet Made Easy:

Flynet is a point-and-click application that enables you to access any OLE DB or ODBC data source (for example, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MySQL, IBM DB2) and exposes company data via a Web Service, which is a standard format for facilitating machine-to-machine communication.

Flynet web service generator is included in the Xcelsius 2008 Engage Server that was just released in March 2008 but for those who haven't had an opportunity to upgrade or never used Flynet before, there is a very simple outline on how to create web service using Flynet and using web service connectivity in Xcelsius 2008 to display the data from the web service. Click below to find out how painless it is to create a web service using Flynet.
